Haleakalā, or the East Maui Volcano, is a massive shield volcano that forms more than 75% of the Hawaiian Island of Maui. The western 25% of the island is formed by the West Maui Mountains. The surrounding walls are steep and the interior mostly barren-looking with a scattering of volcanic cones.

Sequoia National Park is a national park in the southern Sierra Nevada east of Visalia, California, in the United States. The park is south of and contiguous with Kings Canyon National Park; the two are administered by the National Park Service together.The park is famous for its giant sequoia trees, including the General Sherman tree, one of the largest trees on Earth. The General Sherman tree grows in the Giant Forest, which contains five out of the ten largest trees in the world. The Giant Forest is connected by the Generals Highway to Kings Canyon National Park's General Grant Grove, home to the General Grant tree among other giant sequoias.

Yellowstone National Park is a national park located primarily in the U.S. state.Yellowstone Lake is one of the largest high-altitude lakes in North America. Paved roads provide close access to the major geothermal areas as well as some of the lakes and waterfalls. During the winter, visitors often access the park by way of guided tours that use either snow coaches or snowmobile.Native Americans have lived in the Yellowstone region for at least 11,000 years.

Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve is a United States national park and preserve in the Alaska panhandle west of Juneau. Glacier Bay became part of a bi national UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve occupies the northernmost section of the southeastern Alaska coastline, between the Gulf of Alaska and Canada.

The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided canyon carved by the Colorado River in the United States in the state of Arizona. The Grand Canyon is a huge fissure in the Colorado Plateau that exposes uplifted Proterozoic and Paleozoic strata. The Grand Canyon is part of the Colorado River basin which has developed over the past 40 million years. A recent study places the origins of the canyon beginning about 17 million years ago.[wiki]
